Haba Meduris board game

Game description

The gods have called you to Mount Meduris. The mountain is dedicated to the most important Celtic gods. At the foot of the mountain, a fertile landscape with forests and quarries awaits your settlers. The only way to secure God's blessing and become chief of all the tribes is by making offerings to the druid, collecting rune stones and building dwellings and monumental temples.

For children and adults

The mechanism of Meduris revolves heavily around resource gathering, which is very similar to the game Catan. The charming gameplay will quickly suck you in, and the moves move quite quickly, so you won't get bored while waiting your turn. Resource management will be a challenge for older players, while younger players will develop their resource management skills. In addition, players will have to choose the right moment to build their dwellings, and they will also have to pay attention to the strategy of their teammates throughout the game. Meduris is sure to add a distinctive touch to your family evenings.

Rules of the game

Players are tasked with collecting resources at designated locations on the board and using them to build dwellings and temples. The first part of the move is a die roll which determines the distribution of the raw materials (wool, copper, stone and wood) among the players. The second part of the move gives the player three more options:

1. the player can move a worker to pick up more resources
2.  players can spend their resources and build dwellings, but be warned, the more dwellings you have in your pile, the more expensive it becomes to build the next dwelling (after building, players also earn a rune stone, which gives extra points).
3. the player can build a temple (then he doesn't get a stone, but he moves the druid)

The Druid visits the dwellings and allows the players to make offerings to the gods. If players choose to donate, then they must pay for the resources used to build the dwellings, which gives them additional victory points. The game ends when one player has used up all the dwellings and temples, the other players then play another round, after which the scoring takes place. The player with the most points wins.
