The course of the game: One of the actors takes the role of Dr Jekyll, the other that of Mr Hyde. The play takes place in three rounds, at the end of each round, the identity of Dr Jekyll is weakened under the relentless attacks of Mr Hyde. At the end of each round, the players compare how many tricks they have won in that round and subtract the larger number from the smaller. (Example: Dr. Jekyll wins 5 tricks and Mr. Hyde 3.) The difference in the number of tricks indicates how many steps the Identity Hider (Dr. Jekyll) will take to get to the end of the round. Even if Dr. Jekyll wins more tricks than Mr. Hyde, the marker will definitely move towards Mr. Hyde's side. As Dr Jekyll, your aim is to keep your balance without giving in to the darkness. If you play as Hyde, your priority is to create the greatest mathematical difference in tricks won in each round. As Jekyll, filling this gap is your only strategy to avoid the psychological trap.
The game consists of three suits, numbered from two to nine. There is no priority as to which colour is stronger. That is, until the first card is played at the start of the round. This suit is now considered the "weakest". The order of the cards should be followed as you would expect, with the highest numbered card winning. The second suit played becomes the second strongest, and the elimination process makes the third suit the strongest. These are reset at the start of each round, but can also be changed using potions.
Potions bring chaos to the game. A neutral colour that can be led or followed triggers certain effects depending on which colour the opponent is playing. (Example: potion number 4+ and purple 7, the winner of this trick would steal a trick he had previously won from another player.) A green card would force players to exchange two cards between them. A red card resets the current colour ranking, which can change the strategy in the middle of the round. As an additional reminder, potion cards have a plus symbol, so between a 4+ potion and a green 4, the potion with the higher number wins.
If the marker reaches the last space on the lane (far left), then Mr Hyde immediately wins the game. Otherwise, start a new round: remove the 3 coloured chips from the board and shuffle all the cards again, including the 5 cards you put aside at the beginning of this round. If the marker has not reached the end of the lane after three rounds, the winner is Dr Jekyll, who successfully hides his identity from Mr Hyde.
