Game description
The legendary game where you place tiles to build the medieval French Carcassonne. The tiles can be a road, a town, a monastery, a meadow or a combination of these. Win points are earned by placing meeples (wooden men), which can be knight, peasant, bandit or monk. Winner of the prestigious Spiel des Jahres 2001.
For children and adults
In this game, players take and place tiles, which must connect to each other according to certain rules. The game offers a little more room for tactical thinking, and the minor dilemmas caused by the tiles being arranged differently each time will make it fun for adults and children alike. During the game you will often ask yourself: "Should I put my last meeple here?". or "Should I place this tile to extend my place or should I connect it to my opponent's tile to make it harder for him to finish his place?"? Despite the different options, the game is fast-paced, so younger players won't get bored easily and will learn the basics of tactical thinking.
Rules of the game
The player on the turn takes a tile and places it next to another tile that has already been played. The played tile must connect to others according to certain rules: meadow must connect to meadow, road to road, city to city, etc. After placing a tile, the player can also place a meeple in a certain area - in a city as a knight, in a road as a bandit, in a monastery as a monk, etc. When the construction of an area is completed, the meeple scores points for the player and is returned to the player's stock.
