The helmet is designed with a durable outer shell that uses a three-shell construction for greater protection. A tilt adjustment system at the back allows individual adjustment, while a simple belt buckle ensures ease of use and resistance to twisting. Low weight is achieved by thermally bonding the upper shell with Hi-EPS, which allows optimum shock absorption thanks to microscopic air chambers.
- Air flow:
One of the factors that has a major impact on wearing comfort is the ventilation of the helmet. A strategically considered arrangement of the vents is crucial for optimum ventilation of the interior. Air is directed inwards, guided around the head and can re-circulate out the back. The head is thus comfortably air-conditioned at all times.
- Ceramic shell:
All Alpina helmets made using the inmold process are equipped with a robust ceramic shell. The polycarbonate plate is stretched to the shape of the helmet under high heat in the manufacturing process and pressed under high pressure onto the Hi-EPS casing and thermally bonded to it. The ceramic shell is characterised by several properties: it is impact and scratch resistant, UV-stable and anti-static.
- Tailored fit:
Custom Fit is an adjustment system on the back of the head that allows you to adjust the height of the running system in several steps. This allows for an optimum helmet fit that adapts to a wide variety of head shapes. Pressure marks are a thing of the past, the helmet fits perfectly to the head and safety is improved.
- Ergomatic mechanism:
Tried and tested hundreds of thousands of times and used on all Alpina helmets: red-button belt buckle with multi-stage auto-lock. The Ergomatic can be operated with one hand - the strap can be loosened on the way up the mountain and tightened for the descent - and in the event of a fall, the locking mechanism cannot be opened automatically.
- HI-EPS:
The interior of all Alpina helmets is made of Hi-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrene). The material has microscopically small air chambers that absorb the forces acting on the helmet in the event of an impact. Hi-EPS provides optimum protection and at the same time allows for an extremely thin helmet wall as well as a narrow helmet shape.
- Inmold:
In the mould manufacturing process, the polycarbonate upper shell is thermally bonded to the inner shell of the Hi-EPS helmet body under intense heat and pressure. This creates a large and inseparable bond between the upper and lower shell. Advantage: The helmet is very light and at the same time extremely stable.
- Ergo+ system
The Run System allows all Alpina helmets to be adjusted to a customised size with an easy to move knob. The valuable Run System Ergo+ has two large wing-shaped head supports for a comfortable fit. Different from the Run System Ergo Pro: the headrests do not have a rubber cover.
- Ergo Flex system:
The Run System allows all Alpina helmets to be adjusted to a customised size with an easy to move knob. The Run System Ergo Flex is the easiest and most comfortable fitting system Alpina offers. The gentle design grips evenly to the head to increase protection. The Run System Ergo Flex can be adjusted in small steps - there is no helmet lighter, more comfortable or more customized.
- Y-clip:
A helmet can only offer the best possible protection if it remains in the optimal position in the event of a collision. The adjustment and fit of the two straps under the ear plays a decisive role. The Y-clip system ensures millimetre-precise adjustment - in seconds.
