The eighteenth story in the collection The Little Pieces is about the interrelationships between the little inhabitants in a fairy-tale world, which in many ways is very human-like. Matej is not only a scarab beetle, but also a great artist. In fact, he loves to draw flowers in his garden. And everyone is fascinated by his paintings.
Crumbs is the work of Antoine Krings, born in 1962 in France. His educational and entertaining collection has become an international bestseller, with 59 titles published by Gallimard to date, and this year, a cartoon about the Little Tiny Tots was launched in France.
Tadpoles are small insects and animals that live in the same garden, and their behaviour is very similar to that of small children. They can feel joy, anger, envy, friendship, pain and tenderness. The stories are also educational. The little ones have different relationships with each other, sometimes they fight, sometimes they are friends, but at the same time they learn that everyone is different and they learn to accept these differences.

Brigita B.,
We love all the books in the Crumbs collection. Matej the Scarab is a very witty fairy tale for our little ones, also suitable for learning to read thanks to the large print.
