This unique 5-piece basic stencil set is made of durable translucent plastic. The included circle, triangle, square, rectangle and hexagon shapes are familiar to even the earliest learners. Pupils will enjoy using the stencils to draw shapes, create drawings and develop early maths skills. Pupils will also develop fine motor skills as they create with stencils.
Each template has 5 different shapes, specifically designed to show the different ways in which a character can be represented. For example, the triangle template has different triangles: equilateral, isosceles and isosceles triangles, etc. Note the labels on each of the templates from A to E. These letters can serve as reference points when you are working on specific geometry skills and developing your size and relationship skills.
Activities and extensions:
Wipe the shapes on the paper using a pencil. Test and combine characters to create a picture.
Wipe the characters on thicker coloured paper and then cut out the characters. Paste these characters onto another sheet of paper to create a thickened design or a unique image.

Work on size ratios, by determining how many of the smaller characters on the template you can fit inside one of the larger characters on the template. Make graphs to show the results.
Make a character book. Staple the 6 sheets together. Make a cover page on which you write the title: 'My Character Book'. On the first page, draw some circles and write "Circles" at the top of the page. Repeat this process with the other characters on the templates , wipe and name all the characters.
