we have safety information for you on wheeled cranks woom ORIGINAL 6 produced from 2016 to 2020 and woom OFF/OFF AIR 5 & 6 produced in 2019 and 2020.
Please use the attached images and the online tool to check whether the notice applies to your bike. If it is your bike, we will replace the cranks free of charge (important: please read below what you need to bring to the workshop). Do not use your bike until it has been serviced, as there is a small chance that the cranks on these models could break, which could lead to a fall. The risk is particularly high with heavy loads.
If you can see from the pictures above that does your bike have a crankseti, which ju needs to be replaced, follow these steps:
1. Use online toolwhich will link you to the woom website where you can order the new drivers for free.
2. Wait for the two drivers to be delivered to your address.
3. Bring the bike and the crankset to our warehouse for a free service. If you only bring your bike to the service without bringing the new pair of cranks, we will unfortunately not be able to service it.
4. After the service, the bike will be ready to ride again.
You can bring your bike to the Kakadu warehouse during the warehouse's opening hours, Monday to Friday between 9.00 and 14.30. Servicing time is 1 to 3 working days. If you are coming from a remote location, we suggest that you make an appointment one working day in advance at [email protected] or by phone on 070 477 089. The warehouse is located at Celovški cesta 280, 1000 Ljubljana (for easy orientation - the warehouse is in the Supernova Mercator building of the Šiška Centre, the entrance is next to the Sanolabor office).

The safety measure concerns only a small range of woom bicycles, namely only woom ORIGINAL Release E and Release F bicycles in size 6 manufactured between 2016 and 2020 and woom OFF and woom OFF AIR Release A mountain bikes in sizes 5 and 6 manufactured in 2019 and 2020. Bicycles manufactured after 2020 have a redesigned crankset and are not affected.
Why is safety information on drivers needed?
Spontaneous crankset fatigue may occur in some cases on woom ORIGINAL bikes in size 6 manufactured between 2016 and 2020 and on woom OFF and woom OFF AIR bikes in sizes 5 and 6 manufactured in 2019 and 2020. woom's aim is to offer children a reliable product and has therefore voluntarily decided to take the precautionary measure of offering free crankset replacement on these models.
How high is the risk?
The likelihood of the cranks breaking is low. The risk is especially high when the load is high, e.g. steep downhill or uphill riding in a standing position. For the safety of your child, we recommend that customers use the bicycle only after the cranks have been replaced by a professional.

We suggest you use online toolto check step-by-step whether the notification on ours is on your bike. All you need is your bike and a phone/tablet/computer with internet access.
How do I change the cranks?
1. With the help of online tool check that the safety notice applies to your woom bike.
2. If the notification applies to your bike, the online tool will link you to the woom online shop to order the latest batch of drivers.
3. After you have placed your order, you will receive a confirmation email with further information on the next steps.
4. Once you receive the new cranks, bring the bike to our warehouse (Celovška cesta 280, 1000 Ljubljana; Mon-Fri 9-14.30) for a free service. Bring the woom bike to the workshop to which the safety notice refers and the two cranksets you have received. If you only bring your bike for servicing, we will not be able to service it.
Changing the cranks requires special tools, so for the safety of children and the validity of the warranty and guarantee, we advise all customers to bring their bike to us for servicing.
5. After the service, the bike is ready to ride again.
What has woom done to make the subject woom bikes safe again?
When woom was alerted to the potential problem, its product and conformance teams, together with external research institutions, started intensive testing to get to the bottom of the problem.
Tests have shown that the drivers could pose a risk at higher loads. On this basis, they could not rule out safety concerns and therefore decided to carry out safety information on a voluntary basis.
Free replacement cranksets are available to customers in a refurbished format. Owners of the bikes in question are kindly requested to contact us via online tool order their own pair of cranks and then bring the bike and cranks to us for servicing. For the safety of your child, we recommend that customers use the bike only after the cranks have been exchanged.
What about the safety of the cranks in relation to the lifetime of the woom wheels?
Regardless of the safety of the cranks, woom bikes are high-quality bikes that children have had for many years and love to cycle. The Release E and F woom ORIGINAL 6 object bikes from 2016 to 2020 and the Release A woom OFF and woom OFF AIR mountain bikes from 2019 and 2020 should not be used until the cranks have been replaced by a professional. The redesigned crankset and the recommended replacement ensures that the crankset can withstand even higher loads and that the woom bikes will be ready to ride for many years to come.
